The following May, Disney finally released a full trailer which changed the series title to its current form and suggested Jennifer’s major case will be defending The Abomination even as her cousin shows her the ropes of being a Hulk. In November 2021, a Disney+ Day sizzle reel offer a first look at Maslany as Jennifer, a first glimpse at the CGI She-Hulk, and the relationship between the title character and her cousin Bruce. In June of that year, Jameela Jamil joined the series as Titania, a super-strong woman who has tussled with Jennifer in the comics from time to time. In April, Renée Elise Goldsberry joined the program - a subsequent trailer suggested she and Jennifer work at the same firm. In January of 2021, Ginger Gonzaga joined the cast as Nikki, Jen’s best friend.
Bio veteran Anu Valia will also direct episodes. Also, when referencing Jen’s day job, Feige said, “you never know what Marvel characters are going to show up” in the courtroom, leaving many to speculate what it means for Marvel’s other well-known superhero lawyer. At the December 2020 Disney Investor Day Presentation, Feige confirmed Maslany as the star, and announced Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth will appear as The Hulk and The Abomination, respectively. As the Marvel chief put it, “She’s a Hulk and she’s a lawyer.” Though it was the last series announced at the 2019 D23 Expo, it also became one of the quickest to come together with head writer Jessica Gao – a Rick & Morty veteran – director Cat Coiro, and star Tatiana Maslany, who joined the series in September of 2020. What We Know: According to Feige, “Bruce Banner is no longer the only Hulk in the MCU.” Based on fan favorite She-Hulk, the Disney+ series will focus on Bruce’s cousin Jennifer Walters. But with Marvel Studios’ presentation at Comic-Con International: San Diego 2022, the exact length and purpose of Phases Four, Five, and Six were revealed during a presentation notable for just how much information Feige was willing to offer. Sometimes, he even reconsiders where they begin and end after the fact. Since Marvel Studios present Kevin Feige first introduced the notion of Phases to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, their purpose and length have always been mysterious.
